The Channel Islands Gourd Society is directed to the education and instruction of those persons interested in the culture, use, history, horticulture, and/or crafting of gourds. Our members are offered educational opportunities via monthly meetings and outreach programs in the community. Some of these outreach programs include a booth in the agricultural building during the Ventura County Fair each August, displays in local libraries and periodic art classes featuring gourds upon request.

Patch members regularly enter their gourd art in competitions around the county and state. One of our favorite locations to display our artwork is the Ventura County Fair. Some members enter their gourd art in competitions all across the country.

Our patch has grown to more than sixty members. Our members have a unique relationship between their gourds and artistic expression as can be seen at the monthly meetings where current projects are often on display.

The monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from 7pm to 9pm. For more information, please email: Arline Erickson
